March showers have definitely sprouted April flowers!  There is color everywhere and the light is changing, almost like sharpening the lense; perfect focus on highlighting nature around us.  Fisherman’s Festival is just around the corner on April 14 and 15.  If you have not experienced this annual fund raiser that started 45 years ago, you’ve got to check it out.  Besides people and dog watching you can experience; famous food trucks to artisans from near and far, local wineries and beers, watch the hysterical homemade boat races, the blessing of the fleet and all the great music from various bands and musicians.  This is fun for the whole family or if you are single, a great way to meet locals.  See details below.

Market Report March 2018

Above is a link for our Bodega Bay Market Report for 12 months ending 31 March 2018.

The median price went up for Bodega Bay from $920,000 to $952,000 for a 12 month rolling average and up from $1,027,000 to $1,045,000 in Bodega Harbour. March saw 2 homes placed in escrow (1 in Bodega Harbour) list price from $899,000 to $995,000.  There were 6 closings in March, all 6 in Bodega Harbour) from $831,000 to $1,704,000. Total listing inventory is at 10 homes (4 in Bodega Harbour) about half of what is normal for this time of year, total sales for 12 months is 78 homes of which 47 were in Bodega Harbour, up from 49/32 respectively 12 month prior.

It’s been in the upper 70s during the last few days, and butterflies have been passing through our yard.  Yesterday (1 April 2018), a Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) landed in a fruit tree for a few seconds.  I didn’t get a great shot, but here’s one for the record
