Market Report March 2017

Above is a link for our Bodega Bay Market Report for 12 months ending 31 March 2017.

The median price dipped for Bodega Bay from $797,500 to $758,500 12 month rolling average and decreased from $947,000 in Bodega Harbour to $854,500. March saw 3 homes placed in escrow (1 in Bodega Harbour) (7007 Cliff, which is on the escrow list in the market report, fell out of escrow) list price from $555,000 to $949,000.  There were 3 closings in March (2 in Bodega Harbour) at $649,000 and $825,000 and 1 outside the Harbour at $450,000.  No lots sold last month, but 3 were placed in escrow outside the Harbour at $150,000 for 2 and $210,000 for the 3rd. Total listing inventory is 19 homes (8 in Bodega Harbour) up from last year of 15 homes available for sale, total sales for 12 months is 49 homes of which 32 are in Bodega Harbour, this is down from 66/40 homes respectively for the prior 12 months.   We have kept monthly median house prices since 2000 and have market reports going back to 1994.  If you are interested in the historical perspective, please email us and we will send it to you.

Interesting Note:  Sonoma County ranks 19th among ‘hottest’ housing markets in the nation, according to Realtor.com.

44th Annual Fisherman’s Festival – A Wish for Fish

Westside Park, Bodega Bay, Saturday April 8 & Sunday, April 9, 2017, 10 am – 5 pm

Welcome to the home of the Bodega Bay Fisherman’s Festival. Since 1973, this event has celebrated our local fisherman and it’s when salmon season is kicked off with a blessing of the fleet. The Festival is packed with events for people of all ages: craft booths, live music, good food, entertainment and more.

The Fisherman’s Festival is an all-volunteer event and proceeds from the Festival benefit Bodega Bay Area community services.

  • April 8th & 9th: Annual Bodega Bay Fisherman’s Festival, 10am – 6pm at Westside Park in Bodega Bay. Special events include a golf tournament, wooden boat challenge, boat parade, blessing of the fleet, art show & sale, kids zone, kite flying demos, CHP & Sonoma County Sheriff helicopters, ongoing performances, food, wine, beer, and more. This event is (leashed) pet friendly and parking is free.
  • April 21st: Unti Vineyards Winemaker Dinner, 6:30pm at the Inn at the Tides, 800 Highway One, Bodega Bay, CA 94923. 4-course menu including wine. $99 plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required. Please call (707) 875-2751.

  • May 6th: Castles & Kites Festival, 10am – 5pm at Doran Beach State Park in Bodega Bay, CA 94923. Fly kites, build sand castles, join the sand castle building competition. This is an event not to be missed. Admission is free, however, there is a day use fee for parking at Doran Beach State Park.
  • May 19th: Grgich Hills Estate Winemaker Dinner, 6:30pm at the Inn at the Tides, 800 Highway One, Bodega Bay, CA 94923. 5-course menu including wine. $119 plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required. Please call (707) 875-2751.
  • May 20th & 21st: Annual Wool Festival, 10:00am – 5:00pm at the Casari Ranch, 42900 Curley Lane, Point Arena, CA. Demonstrations, music, and food available. Admission is free. In addition, the festival provides an opportunity to trade and sell fleeces from raw, to washed, to carded, to handspun yarns and felted fabrics. Please call 707-876-1908 for more information.
