The median price moved down for Bodega Bay from $997,000 to $992,500 for a 12 month rolling average and rose from $1,053,500 to $1,058,250 in Bodega Harbour.  This median price is up from $849,000 and $950,000 respectively from 12 months ago. September saw 5 homes placed in escrow (3 in Bodega Harbour) list price from $537,000 to $1,595,000. There were 4 closings in September, (all 4 in Bodega Harbour) from $990,000 to $1,800,000.  1 lot was placed in escrow last month listed at $1,420,000.  1 lot sold for $205,000.  Total listing inventory is at 17 homes (6 in Bodega Harbour), total sales for 12 months is 70 homes of which 44 were in Bodega Harbour, up from 58/37 respectively 12 month prior.

Coastal Living

This Stretch of California Coast is Pure Underrated Paradise! Lindgren makes her point standing on a finger of land jutting west at Timber Cove, the home of a circa-1960s lodge that has recently emerged. Click the above link to read the rest of the story. It’s a telling reality for the 55 miles of corrugated coast that buck from the fishing village of Bodega Bay through the tiny outposts of Jenner, Timber Cove, and The Sea Ranch to the sandbars of the Gualala River. This isolated—and isolating—topography of ridge, gulch, and cliff has kept things near-virginal when it comes to cell service—a potent symbol of a place that has kept out all but the hardiest pioneers, entrepreneurs, and travelers for several hundred years. Just two hours north of San Francisco, the Sonoma Coast remains a pocket of spectacular remove.

 

 

 

FISH REPORT

The fall action remains great with easy limits of salmon and rockfish available. On Friday 10-5 my phone was ringing by 8:30. Painting decoys in the shop I’m thinking it’s one of my fellow club members checking in…. it’s not. It’s Jeff on the Samantha Irene reporting 5 limits of 6 to 10 pound salmon. Jeff was trolling out in 50 fathoms west of the Head and said “you should have been here. We has several doubles and just put the last fish in the box”. The weather was great and the whale show has been exceptional for the past two plus weeks with all the feed in the area. It’s rare to wrap up a good season with even better signs of the next to come. I will go on the record and say that next season could possibly be as good as 1988. I may not be publishing this report then but all the signs (the only negative is a possible El Nino) are pointing to an excellent year.
