Dear clients and friends:
Welcome to February on the Sonoma Coast!
We've had so many lovely sunny days on the coast over the last few weeks. Bodega Bay offers many fabulously beautiful winter season days.
Coastal real estate is beginning to wake up with a few property offerings coming on the market. Over many months, we've had historically low inventory, high buyer demand and most properties have sold very quickly. There is pent up demand left over from last season, so homes that come on the market this season will benefit from many interested buyers taking a close look.
The 2021 coastal market was "white-hot". This year, even with economic uncertainties due to inflation, interest rates hikes and the pandemic, all indications point to the 2022 market being at least "red-hot". This is due to the fundamental principle of supply and demand. Demand continues to outpace supply.
If you're curious about the current value of your home, we're happy to provide you with an in-depth market analysis. The information might surprise you. Having an accurate idea of the current value can be helpful in evaluating big-picture decisions.
Below you'll find RED LINKS to coastal real estate, coastal information and local news. If you have any questions, no matter how big or small, please don't hesitate to reach out. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have about real estate or coastal living.
If you want to explore ALL coastal properties currently on the market from Dillon Beach to Sea Ranch, and all in between, click on COASTAL PROPERTY SEARCH. Note: if an "Active" property is not clickable, it is because it is already in contract.
Here's OUR SOLD COASTAL PROPERTIES.
Best Spots to See Whales on Their Northward Migration
Thousands of gray whales are now making that epic journey, as they do every year, moving at about 3 to 5 miles per hour. Not bad for a creature as long as an 18-wheel semitrailer truck and 36 tons, full-grown.
From now through May, visitors to local coastlines can watch their leviathan progress northward, from several key spots. Unlike other whale species, the gray’s ocean “highway” is remarkably close to shore, making them fairly easy to observe.
Bodega Head, at the northwest side of Bodega Bay, has high bluffs and trails for great whale watching. Also, high points along the Kortum Trail, particularly at the northern end near Goat Rock, offer excellent long-distance ocean views of passing whales. And the overlooks and bluffs near the mouth of the Russian River are good spots to sight whales.
The ARTISAN'S CO-OP in the close-by inland town of Bodega has a variety of art to gift a loved one on Valentine's Day.
