The median price moved slightly down for Bodega Bay from $995,000 to $990,000 for a 12 month rolling average and from $1,052,000 to $1,045,000 in Bodega Harbour. This median price is up from $817,500 and $932,500 respectively from 12 months ago. June saw 8 homes placed in escrow (4 in Bodega Harbour) list price from $749,000 to $2,395,000. There were 9 closings in June, (5 in Bodega Harbour) from $660,000 to $2,025,000. 1 lot was sold last month in Bodega for $509,950. Total listing inventory is at 15 homes (8 in Bodega Harbour), total sales for 12 months is 75 homes of which 49 were in Bodega Harbour, up from 21/9 respectively 12 month prior. .

Feds Send $26 million Relief for California Crab Fishery Disaster

Nearly $26 million of relief from the federal government is on its way to fishermen and women affected by the ill-fated commercial Dungeness crab season in the North Coast three years ago.

FISH REPORT
After a couple of days of rough weather we are seeing slowly improving conditions along the Sonoma coast. Salmon scores on Saturday June 30 were very mixed with some boats taking up to 3 limits and many others seeing a fish or two at best. Jeff on the Samantha Irene reported one just legal salmon despite his best efforts.
On Sunday July 1 morning the bite started off slooooooooow and stayed that way until about noon when the fish came up. Rick on the New Sea Angler reported 28 salmon to 29 pounds for their 32 anglers to go with limits of rockfish and 7 lings to 11 pounds. Rick said the action was best between Tomales Point and the Whistle buoy. Rick passed along a report to say that he thought Jeff had limits (he has not yet checked in) and private boaters who stuck it out into the afternoon were well rewarded.
If the weather holds we should see some incredible, possibly unreal action this coming week. This is the time of year that salmon move north and some of those many 10s of 1000s of fish off the Golden Gate will be showing in the local waters.
The New Sea Angler (707-875-3344) and the six-pack Miss Anita (707-875-3474) out of Bodega Bay. They will take you on a trip to catch crab, rockfish and other fish.

Eric’s summer students found a few intriguing isopods in the rocky intertidal zone this morning. This one rolled up into a tight little sphere. You can see its compound eyes and orange antennules at the top, and the last abdominal appendages (a broad pleotelson and 4 curved uropods) at the bottom. We believe this is a species of Gnorisphaeroma in the Sphaeromatidae family. “Sphaero” means ball or sphere — a wonderful reference to this shape! Posted: 29 Jun 2018 10:07 PM
